ABOUT THE MEETING

The 2011 annual meeting of the Clinical Magnetic Resonance Society offers an intensely practical teaching experience specifically designed for physicians and technologists who are actively engaged in the practice of MR. Panel discussions of imaging techniques and protocols will be combined with focused lectures that include both essential and advanced MR topics. Radiologists will benefit from unique discussions of MR reporting, while technologists will enjoy concurrent breakout sessions specifically designed for their needs.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This CME activity is primarily intended and designed to educate diagnostic imaging physicians who supervise and interpret MRI studies and technologists who perform MRI.  However, this meeting is also of great benefit for referring physicians who order these studies, so that they may gain a greater appreciation for the uses, strengths and limitations of clinical MRI.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to:

·         Optimize protocols and imaging techniques for MR of the musculoskeletal system, neural axis, breast, and body.

·         Apply the core fundamentals necessary for interpretation and performance of musculoskeletal MR.

·         Describe the current approach to diagnosis and management of common pathologies of the neural axis.

·         Discuss the clinical utility for the use of Breast MR.

·         Recognize essential information necessary for the performance and interpretation of body and cardiovascular MR.

·         Discuss current safety recommendations and guidelines for using MR contrast agents

No special educational preparation is required for this CME activity.

CLINICAL CONTENT SAMS

The ABR requires a minimum of 20 self-assessment modules (SAMs) over a 10 year cycle to meet maintenance of certification (MOC) requirements.  The CMRS has submitted Four sessions of the meeting program to the ABR for clinical content SAM qualification. The CMRS will request clinical content SAM qualification in the areas of:

Musculoskeletal, Neuro, Breast & Body MRI

The number of SAM credits and approved sessions will be available approximately 21 days prior to the meeting

MOC (maintenance of certification) is for diplomates who are already ABR-certified, and who are working in the 10-year cycle of maintaining that certification.  Diplomates who hold time-limited (10-year) certificates are automatically enrolled in the MOC program and should start participating immediately. Diplomates who hold lifetime certificates must enroll in the program to begin the MOC process.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Tuition includes all course materials, including a comprehensive course syllabus, daily continental breakfasts and coffee breaks. Early registration is strongly suggested. There will be a $50 surcharge for anyone registering after June 14, 2011. Minimum and maximum attendance levels have been established for this meeting. If your registration cannot be accepted, you will be issued a full tuition refund.

Cancellations must be received in writing. A $50 processing fee will be applied to all cancellations. Refunds requested in writing prior to June 1, 2011 will be issued for the amount of tuition paid less the $50 processing fee. No refunds will be made on or after that date.
